Journal 22 Feb 14 , Spelling & Koobits

Journal Topic for 22 February 2014

The Bubble Experience

Pupils are to write about the Bubble Experience on Thursday.
We are looking for more expression of their feelings while describing what happened.

Spelling Term 1 - Week 8 (28 Feb, Friday )

  1. Mabel sweeps the floor everyday.
  2. bought a huge lollipop for my best friend.
  3. Mother has many sharp knives in the kitchen.
  4. Did you see the balloon floating in the sky?
  5. The rainbow consists of seven different colours.
  6. The green watermelon is bigger than the red apple.
  7. I change into my swimming costume before I dive into the pool.

I am encouraging many pupils to try to write the full sentences.
However, I will only give marks the underlined words.

Rationale:
Pupils need to remember the writing convention of putting capital letters at the beginning of the sentence and a full stop , a exclamation mark or a question mark at the end.
Pupils practise writing faster.
Pupils could use phonics to try to spell the words that they are not sure.
    1) The word begins with?
    2) What other sounds are there?
    3) What is the ending sound?
Pupils to pay attention to details.  When I last repeat the sentences, the pupils should be checking for missing words.

Corrections
Number 1 to 5: Underlined words 3 times
Sentecne 6 - 7: Copy the sentence once.
